ABOUT

Hi, I’m Connor Matteson. I’m a communications professional based in Anchorage, Alaska, where I work in public relations supporting clients across tourism, telecommunications, banking and fishing. I was born and raised in Clovis, California, and graduated from California State University, Fresno, in 2019.

My passion for public relations started early in my career, with roles that allowed me to connect with communities and tell meaningful stories. At Anne’s Hallmark, I created original content and promoted the business through community events. At Common Space, I launched and managed impactful social media campaigns, which significantly increased community engagement and event attendance. These experiences shaped my love for strategic communications and storytelling.

After college, I began my career as a TV news reporter in South Dakota and later in Alaska, covering city government and community issues. That work fueled my love for storytelling and travel, while teaching me the importance of giving a voice to communities that are often overlooked. I am especially passionate about using my platforms to uplift Indigenous populations and people experiencing homelessness.

Returning to public relations and marketing, I now work as a junior account executive at Thompson & Co. Public Relations. I create and manage content and campaigns that connect with audiences statewide and nationally, telling stories through multimedia, press materials and events while ensuring every project runs smoothly. In each role, I focus on crafting meaningful stories, engaging audiences and building connections that matter.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to inclusivity and authenticity. I bring a background in journalism, PR, marketing and social media to every project, helping organizations share their stories and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.
