Trend Alaska Fashion Show

In its finale year, the Trend Alaska Fashion Show partnered with the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts to support its mission of making the arts accessible to everyone. All proceeds were donated to the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (501c3) with the event raising $310,000 to help address urgent infrastructure needs at the venue.

In 2025, I was brought on to do public relations for the fashion show and I was able to increase their visibility in the media by 94,497% from the previous year all on my own.

By creating curated media lists and knowledge of the media landscape, I secured the client a live TV segment on Alaska’s top news outlet, earned coverage in all four major outlets in Alaska and landed additional pickups by Yahoo! Entertainment and Getty Images.

This grand finale will have designers from across Alaska in a heartfelt celebration of the state’s fashion and arts scene.

“Producing Trend has been a labor of love,” said Carol Fraser, founder and committee chair. “This isn’t just a fashion show, it’s been a platform for connection, growth and impact. As we prepare for this final event, we want to honor everything this community has built together.”

The final show will feature 19 designers from across Alaska, showcasing original work ranging from couture to wearable art to Indigenous designs.

“Trend gave us a runway, not just for our designs but for our stories,” said Bobbie Meszaros from GarnetAnn Designs. “It created a space where Alaska artists could be seen, heard and celebrated. The show gave us statewide visibility and connected us with audiences who truly believe that Alaska art matters. Being part of Trend helped me grow as a designer, but more than that, it reminded me why we create — to share who we are and inspire others to do the same.”

Since its debut in 2019, Trend Alaska Fashion Show has raised $580,000 for Alaska nonprofits.

Each year, a different organization has benefited from the event:

    • 2019 – Tourism Works for Alaska – $40,000

    • 2022 – VOA Alaska – $125,000

    • 2023 – Let Every Woman Know - Alaska – $165,000

    • 2024 – Victims For Justice – $250,000

This year, all proceeds will support the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. (ACPA), the non-profit manager of the PAC — a cornerstone of Anchorage’s creative community that now faces a critical turning point. Deferred maintenance and aging infrastructure within the PAC have placed the building’s future at risk, with ACPA warning that without major investment, the PAC may be forced to scale back operations or close its doors.

“The support from Trend couldn’t come at a more important time,” said Codie Costello, president and chief operating officer of ACPA. “This building is more than a brick and mortar, it’s the heart of our arts community. Without significant upgrades, we’re at risk of losing the performances, programs and partnerships that make Anchorage a cultural hub.”

In recent years, the PAC has contributed an average of $22 million annually in economic impact to Anchorage, drawing visitors from across the state and beyond. But mounting capital needs have already forced programming cuts, including the cancellation of this year’s touring production of “Tina – The Tina Turner Musical.”

“The funds raised from this event are crucial to the center’s mission,” said Costello. “Now more than ever, we need to invest in local art and the artists who bring our communities to life.”

The final Trend Alaska Fashion Show will be both a celebration and a final showcase, a chance to honor the designers, sponsors, nonprofits and supporters who have made the event a beloved annual tradition.

“Trend has always been about more than fashion,” Fraser said. “It’s about community, generosity and creativity. This final show is a love letter to Alaska.”

  • Trend Alaska Fashion Show raises $310,000 for the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Inc.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The curtain has closed on the Trend Alaska Fashion Show, which took its final bow on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (PAC). In front of a packed house, 19 designers from across the state showcased original work in a heartfelt celebration. Together, attendees and supporters raised $310,000 in proceeds for the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. (ACPA).

“Seeing the PAC filled with so much joy and artistry was beyond anything I could have hoped for,” said Carol Fraser, founder and committee chair. “Trend has always been about more than fashion. It’s been about lifting each other up, honoring creativity and showing the power of community.”

This year’s proceeds went to the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. (ACPA), which manages the PAC and anchors Anchorage’s cultural life. The building has welcomed audiences for decades, but aging infrastructure and years of deferred maintenance have created serious challenges. Without significant investment, ACPA has cautioned that the PAC may soon face reduced programming or the possibility of closure.

“This final Trend show was more than a fundraiser, it was a reminder of how deeply this community cares about the arts,” said Codie Costello, president and chief operating officer of ACPA. “Thanks to Trend, we are one step closer to ensuring this building and all the creativity it inspires continues to thrive for generations to come.”

Since its debut in 2019, Trend Alaska Fashion Show has now raised more than $890,000 total for nonprofits across the state. Its legacy is measured not only in dollars, but in the visibility it gave Alaska artists and the community it built year after year.

    • 2019 – Tourism Works for Alaska – $40,000

    • 2022 – VOA Alaska – $125,000

    • 2023 – Let Every Woman Know - Alaska – $165,000

    • 2024 – Victims For Justice – $250,000

    • 2025 – Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Inc.– $310,000

“Ending Trend with such a powerful night was the perfect way to close this chapter,” Fraser said. “The runway may be finished, but the spirit of this show will carry on in Alaska for years to come.”
